South Saad Hilal Al Kuwait, is envisioned to be a unique community that represents a self-fulfilling, vibrant and inclusive way of life for residents and visitors. The city will reinforce and transform the cultural identity and traditions of Kuwait into a contemporary and diverse urban setting centred on creating a sense of place and community. By integrating residential land uses within an accessible network of open spaces and community facilities, as well as providing opportunities for employment and the use of smart technology. South Saad Hilal Al Kuwait will be a sustainable and high-quality urban environment for present and future generations.
We propose a new paradigm of new town with the consideration of visions, principles and objectives. It uses irregular urban figures such as greenery and water to avoid grid pattern in core areas of existing Kuwait cities. The core focuses on the main centre and gateways that stitch together neighbourhoods. The strip distributes the centre to prove each neighbourhood gains value. The crescent provides a wide destination and city landmark to remember. By merging the core and crescent we aim to create an experiential journey through a city lake with numerous seasonal focal points, fascinating views and social encounters that provide a variety of experience with access to leisure, culture and business. South Saad Hilal Al Kuwait will be a city with a new housing paradigm using various housing types. The city will satisfy the needs of residents through various urban functions and will set the standard for new sustainable cities.
